A Look Back At The Past Year

It’s hard to believe The Rutherford has officially been open for a year now.  This year has flown by and the journey is really only just beginning.  Taking a step back and spending some time to reflect on the challenges and successes, one word continues to come to mind: Community.

Some people know that I spent 3+ years as a Public Defender before changing my path to owning my own business.  I first spent my time protecting and working for the community, and now my focus is bringing the community together.  We didn’t just invest in a run down building on Rutherford Rd.  We invested in preserving the buildings history and in creating a space that allows people to come together and celebrate.

Being an entrepreneur is tough.  It means making hard decisions (that sometimes might not be the right ones).  It means a lot of work. A lot of late nights and a lot of stressful days.  But it also has brought a ton of joy into my life.  Owning this venue has allowed me to host my own family events, including my son’s first birthday party.  It has introduced me to the booming community of entrepreneurs and the people who are working to develop Greenville and better our home.  It has allowed me to watch the beginning of so many love stories, which reminds me to never take for granted the love and support my husband continually shows me.  But I think the biggest joy of all is knowing that this is only the beginning.  There are more events to host, more memories to be made, and an even stronger community to build.

Medals of America Website Launch Party

At the end of April we were lucky enough to celebrate Medal of America’s website launch at The Rutherford.  What a fun way to see the venue transformed and for such a worthy company. Medals of America, located in Fountain Inn, is the number one source for official military medals, awards, ribbons, and display cases..  Not to mention it’s a Veteran owned and Veteran serving company that has been in operation since 1976 with unsurpassed Military Awards knowledge and service.

To celebrate the launch of their new e-commerce website, Medals of America took camo shades and other military equipment to create an aesthetic and eye catching set up.

Flying the American flags high, choosing neutrals over bright shades and making a missile into a drink cooler were just a few unique details that set the vibe for the night.

For a closer look at the details and to learn more about this amazing company, check out the Facebook video we took at the event.  They even had a few Veteran vendors there selling their own products.  How supportive is this community?!

With 4th of July right around the corner, check out Medal of Honor’s newly launched website and proudly show your support and commitment to the military of our country.  Don’t forget to check out these South Carolina Veteran owned companies as well:

All the NESSesities for the perfect launch event

While we love the grand occasion of a wedding at The Rutherford, we also love a good launch party… especially when it’s introducing a great cause in our very own town.  Have y’all heard of NESS Fest yet?  It’s taking place on October 20-21st and is bringin’ all the NESSesities together: wellness, goodness, fitness and wholeness.  It’s a festival celebrating all the fundamentals of living a happy and healthy life and their launch event held at The Rutherford was the perfect teaser.

The NESS Fest transformed the warehouse and courtyard into the perfect celebration.  Café tables and lounge seating + a towering charcuterie table and sushi bar from one of our favorite vendors, Murisake, made for the perfect night filled with networking and finger foods.  They also had DJ Black Caesar, a photobooth and bars accented with boxwood hedges to keep the party going.

We were so thrilled to be able to share in this moment with NESS Fest.  It wasn’t long ago we were celebrating our own grand opening… The Rutherford can literally be designed to fit any style and that is precisely the reason people love it.  Check out more photos from NESS Fest here and email info@therutherfordgreenville.com for inquiries on your next event.

Boho Glam Outdoor Party

Spring has finally sprung and it’s time to take full advantage of The Rutherford’s courtyard. We got together with a few local vendors from Greenville to showcase a boho glam look… Perfect for an outdoor get together, day or night.

Since we offer savings for weekday bookings and Sunday rentals, this is the perfect opportunity to take that extra savings and use it to vamp up the décor. We’ve fallen in love with the pillows, rugs and tables that Industry Event Rentals offers. Pair those with the table settings from Tri-County Rentals, florals from Frilly Bloomers and the Rutherford courtyards twinkle lights and you’ve got yourself a Bohemian paradise.

Need some additional Boho daytime party ideas? Here are just a few of our favs. We’re fond of the omelet breakfast bar, mimosas and flower crown making but a birthday party for your fur baby sounds like a great excuse to throw a celebration.

Check with The Rutherford for available dates. If you’re ever needing help with vendor recommendations, we’re happy to share some of our Greenville go-tos.

A Look Inside The Rutherford

Watch out, Greenville!  There’s a new venue on the block… On Rutherford Road to be exact.  Located just outside of Downtown, the Rutherford officially opened its doors in July of this year and is ready to bring your next event to life.  Blending the old with the new, we’re the venue you’ve dreamed about with the flexibility of being able to make it your own.

The Rutherford has three unique spaces that you can rent out for your next wedding, social, corporate or fundraising event.  Whether you need just one area or all three, we’ve got you covered.

The first space is The Brick Room, capable of holding up to 275 people for a cocktail reception or 225 for a seated dinner. With 2,800 square ft. to work with, the dark wood floors, large windows, brick walls, and exposed ceiling highlight this building’s rustic elegance. Not to mention, there is a lounge area that can be separated from the main space, a private room and bathroom on this floor, a prep kitchen and additional guest restrooms.

But if The Brick Room doesn’t quite fit your needs, walk down a few stairs and into The Warehouse. Just a tad smaller than The Brick Room, this 2,200 square ft. space can seat 125 or host 250 for a cocktail reception. With original brick walls, hardwood columns, exposed wood beam ceilings, and even a wall covered in boxwood greenery, there’s not much more you could ask for.

Oh wait, yes there is!  The Warehouse also has three glass overhead doors that can roll open to expand your event out onto The Veranda.  Perfect for those beautiful Greenville nights.  We should also mention that there is a prep kitchen and restroom on this floor as well.

Last but not least, we have The Courtyard.  As our largest event space, spanning 4,000 square ft.,  we can seat or host a cocktail reception for 300 guests. From the well maintained lawn to the twinkle lights, we take pride in our outdoor oasis!   We even have a custom fence and surrounding bamboo forest, making your event private and truly unforgettable.

So we’ve mentioned the three spaces, the lounge, the private room with an ensuite bath (perfect for a bridal suite), and the two prep kitchens, but we have a few more things to offer at The Rutherford.  We’ve also got the parking covered for up to 55 cars (overflow parking is available for larger events) and a house sound system for you to use.  But if you need any help with rentals we can provide you with tables, chairs and AV equipment to rent.

Our focus is providing the perfect venue, but what is a venue without the food, the drinks, decor, and entertainment?  We’ve worked hard to build relationships with vendors in the area and we’re happy to provide you with a list of some of our favorites.  These are companies that know The Rutherford, know how to throw amazing events and know what it means to provide quality customer service.  If there is a licensed and insured vendor that you would like to use that isn’t on this list,  we’ll work with you to make sure they reach The Rutherford standards.  We provide the space, you make it your own.

So, now that you’ve met us, we’d love to meet you.  Reach out to Yasha Patel by emailing info@therutherfordgreenville.com or by calling 864-735-0615.  Introduce yourself and share the vision for your next event.  We can’t wait to hear from you!
